Format of the Course:

Dear Colleagues,
because of the measures associated with fighting the Covid 19 Virus, real life courses at the TU Wien are still cancelled. Therefore, the course LVA 138.039 – "Einführung in die Forschungsgebiete der Fakultät für Physik" will continue in a virtual format.

The physics-institutes of TU vienna introduce themselves in 4 online-meetings.


Your task is to describe the research groups and research topics of each institute on the basis of the online introduction and of the homepages of the respective institutes. This description has to be summarized in your own words within a short protocol.

For your convenience, relevant links are posted below. You can ask questions right after the introductory online presentations. Of course you can also contact the institute's representatives, also given below.

Protocols for institutes E134 - E138 should be approximately 2 pages per institute, the protocol for the Atominstitut E141 between 2-4 pages. This amounts to a maximum of 10 pages in total.

Grades will be issued after June 17, 2021.
Please kindly refrain from copy/pasting text passages from the Web Sites and from uploading identical files for several persons. This will be checked and the consequence will be the cancellation of grading all identical or obviously copy/pasted protocols. No certificate will be issued in this case.
