The research group "Electron Microscopy and Materials" deals with two topics:
Advanced Magnetism and Lorentz Microscopy
We are concentrating on the development of new magnetic materials and to solve numerical micromagnetic problems. Experimental facilities include powdermetallurgical and magnetic characterisation laboratories as well as Lorentz microscopy.
Electron Microscopy
We are dealing with phase manipulation of electron beams in a transmission electron microscope, the detection of optical and magnetic properties of materials by means of electron beam techniques and fundamental electron-matter interactions.
